Our Unique Blend:
Kenya AA Dark
Kenya AA coffee beans are grown at elevations higher than 6,600 feet above sea level. Kenya AA is considered to be one of the world's finest specialty coffees. Some Kenya AA coffees are light-bodied yet still very bright and exhibiting a floral aroma. Tones of passion fruit and wine are often present, and this is almost always balanced by an acidity that is crisp and refreshing, which is one of the reasons this is one of the world's finest gourmet coffees. Kenya AA, in particular, is known for its piquant quality, a secondary coffee taste sensation producing a mostly sweet sensation (perhaps prickling) on the tongue tip. Kenya coffee is grown on mountainside "fincas" (farms), some at elevations higher than 6,600 feet above sea level making Kenya AA considered to be one of the world's best coffee beans. The high growing altitudes means that the beans grow slower than at low altitudes, providing more nutrients and allowing them more time to develop their flavors and mature. Kenya AA has consistently been one of the world's best rated coffees.
Mexican Finca Monte Azul
Mexican high grown coffee from Finca Monte Azul. It is a Sweet coffee that presents with a pleasant color, very balanced once in a cup, fine and balanced acidity, spicy aroma and honey tones. Your palate can appreciate the tone of chocolate and biscuit, leaving an aftertaste with lovable wafer notes and malt. Sweet coffee. It has a crisp, nutty aroma on the nose, with a full, rich flavor and is very balanced once in the cup. It has a medium body, is fine and balanced acidity, with a smooth, sweet flavor of nuts and chocolate on the palate and a sweet finish of honey and malt.
Brazil
The best Brazilian coffees have a relatively low acidity, and exhibits a nutty sweet flavor, often bittersweet with a chocolaty roast taste. Growing elevations in Brazil range from about 2,000 feet to 4,000 feet. Those who enjoy a smooth, mild cup of coffee would tend towards Brazilian beans. It is frequently used in blends by coffee companies to mellow out the flavor profile.

Fundraising
Homemade Foods Store is proud to commit 5% of profits from all retail coffee sales
to the Great Smoky Mountains Association &
5% to Friends of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
The Great Smoky Mountains National Park has two major nonprofit partners that work to raise money for all manner of projects not covered with federal funds. Friends of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park primarily raises money through memberships, special event fundraisers, and general donations (including park donation boxes). Great Smoky Mountains Association primarily raises money through sales at their visitor center stores in and around the park and their membership program. The Great Smoky Mountains Association (GSMA), which has been around since 1953, has raised more than $44 million over the course of its life and the Friends of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park (Friends), formed in 1993, has raised $65 million. Each organization has its focal points and greatly benefit the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Together, the groups have worked to fill the gap between what the federal government will fund and what the park needs to thrive. Friends has funded rehabilitation of four major trails in the park through its Trails Forever Program. The groups together paid for roughly half of the $4.3 million National Park Service Collections Preservation Center that opened in 2016. GSMA funded the $3 million Oconaluftee Visitor Center, completed in 2011, and Friends used $550,000 toward exhibits and visitor orientation for the building. Other programs the groups fund range from bear bag cables at campsites to staff salaries to prescribed burns.
Great Smoky Mountains Association
Great Smoky Mountains Association (GSMA) is a nonprofit cooperating association, and as such is one of the National Park Service’s oldest and most enduring partnerships. The primary purpose of GSMA is to support the scientific, historical and interpretive activities of Great Smoky Mountains National Park by providing educational products and services to park visitors. GSMA also helps to protect more than 90 historic structures, from houses, barns and outbuildings to churches, schools, and grist mills that have been preserved or rehabilitated in the park. GSMA depends on the generous support of members to fulfill their mission: to preserve the Smokies for generations to come. Memberships helps them welcome more than 11 million people each year to Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Exploring the Smokies usually begins at one of the park’s state-of-the-art visitor centers, where rangers conduct educational programs and GSMA staff provide recommendations for the best hiking, picnicking and camping spots.
